What material do we use for full-colour 3D figures?+
For our full-colour 3D figures we use high-quality UV-curing photopolymers from Stratasys, Evonik and Henkel. Depending on the process, they enable detailed geometries, precise colour reproduction and fine surface structures.
What sets our 3D figures apart from very cheap online offers?+
Our full-colour figures are not made using simple gypsum-like powder processes or basic nylon. We use high-quality full-colour photopolymers and careful post-processing. Depending on the project, transparent or semi-transparent colour effects can also reproduce glass, gemstones and other translucent materials realistically. Additional surface finishing creates a smoother, more refined surface.
Why is there no fixed price for a 3D figure?+
Production costs depend largely on actual print volume, material consumption and therefore the weight of the object. Two figures of the same height can therefore have different prices.
Is creating a 3D model from photos or drawings free?+
No. Modelling from photos, drawings or other source material is a paid service and is quoted before work begins.
What is free with a 3D scan?+
We check an existing scan file for basic suitability free of charge and without obligation. Editing, repair, data preparation, modelling and 3D printing are paid services.
Can I save money with my own 3D scan?+
Potentially, yes. If the scan already provides a good data basis, the required modelling effort can be reduced.
Which materials and 3D-printing processes are available?+
Depending on the application, options include full-colour, plastic, ceramic and metal 3D printing. We advise you on the appropriate solution.
Are one-offs and larger quantities possible?+
Yes. We produce individual one-offs as well as prototypes, small series and project-specific larger quantities.
How long does production take?+
Production usually takes around 3 to 6 weeks, depending on complexity. The exact time depends on modelling effort, printing process, material, post-processing and quantity. After reviewing the project documents, the expected processing and production time is stated in the quotation.
Can you create a figure from a photo?+
Yes. A digital 3D model can be created from suitable photos. Additional views help reproduce shape, clothing and details more accurately.
How much does shipping cost?+
Standard shipping within Germany is free up to 2 kg. Standard EU-wide shipping up to 2 kg costs €9. For higher weights, special formats or other shipping methods, shipping costs are available on request.
Can I have protected characters, logos or designs printed?+
Only if the necessary rights or licences are available. If there is doubt, 3Dinsta3D may request suitable proof and may decline an order.
